How to design an advance logo

By Mokum / January 3, 2023

Designing a logo is an important task for any brand, as it serves as the visual identity of the company. A well-designed logo can effectively communicate the brand’s mission, values, and target audience, and help it stand out in a crowded market. If you’re looking to create an advanced logo that truly represents your brand, here are some key steps to follow:

  1. Define the brand’s identity: Before you start designing the logo, it’s important to understand the brand’s identity. This includes the brand’s mission, values, and target audience.

For example, if the brand’s mission is to provide eco-friendly products, the logo should communicate this message through the use of colors, shapes, and imagery. On the other hand, if the brand’s target audience is young professionals, the logo should be modern and stylish.

  1. Research and gather inspiration: Once you have a clear understanding of the brand’s identity, it’s time to start gathering inspiration. Look at logos in the same industry and study what makes them effective. Pay attention to the colors, fonts, and overall design aesthetic.

You can also look at logos from other industries for inspiration. For example, if you’re designing a logo for a fashion brand, you can look at logos from other luxury brands to see what works well.

  1. Sketch and brainstorm ideas: Start by sketching out different ideas and concepts. Don’t worry about making them perfect at this stage, the goal is to generate as many ideas as possible. Use pencil and paper or a sketching app on your tablet or smartphone.

As you sketch, consider the following:

  • The brand’s identity: How well does each idea represent the brand’s mission, values, and target audience?
  • Simplicity: A good logo should be simple and easy to recognize. Avoid using too many colors, fonts, or elements.
  • Versatility: The logo should work well in different contexts, such as on a website, social media, or business card.
  • Uniqueness: The logo should be unique and distinguishable from other logos in the same industry.
  1. Choose the best ideas: Once you have a good number of ideas, it’s time to select the most promising ones. Consider how well each idea represents the brand’s identity and how well it will work in different contexts.

You may want to show your sketches to a small group of people and get their feedback. This can help you identify which ideas are the strongest and which ones need more work.

  1. Create a digital version: Once you have a clear direction for the design, it’s time to create a digital version using a graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape.

Start by creating a basic layout using simple shapes and lines. Then, add color and typography to the design. Remember to keep the design simple and avoid using too many colors, fonts, or elements.

  1. Test and refine: Before finalizing the logo, it’s a good idea to test it with a small group of people to get their feedback. Show the logo to them in different contexts (e.g., on a website, on social media, on a business card) and ask for their thoughts.

Based on the feedback, you may need to make some adjustments to the design. For example, you may need to change the color scheme, adjust the typography, or add or remove elements.

Keep in mind that designing a logo is a process and it may take several iterations to get it right. It’s important to be patient and keep an open mind throughout the process. With time and practice, you’ll get better at designing advanced logos that effectively represent the brand’s identity
